Coffee and Banana Protein Smoothie

Not only does coffee wake you up, but studies show that it can also help you burn fat and lower your risk of type 2 diabetes and certain types of cancer. While this antioxidant-rich drink can give you that extra boost you need to make it through the day, indulging in those popular drinks from your local coffeehouse won’t do you any favours because their high sugar content will make you crash almost immediately. This energizing and delicious smoothie will give you energy, while also making you feel full and satisfied — and it won’t sabotage your daily macro and calorie goals. 

Ingredients:  

(Serves 1) 

1 scoop vanilla protein powder 
½ cup drip coffee, cooled 
½ cup milk (or almond milk) 
½ banana 
6 ice cubes 
1 tsp cinnamon  

Directions:  

  1. Combine the vanilla protein powder, coffee, milk, banana, and ice cubes in a blender. 
  2. Pulse until smooth.  
  3. Pour into a cup and top with the cinnamon.  
  4. Serve immediately and enjoy.
